‘Retrofit Credits – a world first innovation to support de-carbonisation’

De-carbonisation is a huge challenge for the UK and with 21% of carbon emissions arising from or 66m tonnes of carbon being produced by UK homes, the need to address the retrofit challenge is clear.

At an expected cost of £330bn to retrofit existing UK housing stock and relatively small amounts of financial assistance through grants available, the financial impact is almost certainly impeding quick progress.

Working in partnership with Arctica partners, HACT has developed a world first carbon crediting scheme which seeks to provide an authentic, credible way to recognise and value carbon savings, creating saleable assets which can then be sold.  Thus creating an income stream for organisations involved in retrofit activity.

Jacqui Bateson, MD of HACT will talk through the ways in which landlords and those within the supply chain could benefit from the Retrofit Credits scheme to support retrofit activity and social value creation.
