“Last year Inprova procured £245 million worth of goods and services across approximately 3,000 managed contracts. We’re keen to use this supply chain influence to benefit local communities and encourage innovation and environmental outcomes. One way is by looking, forensically, at exactly what we spend with different types of suppliers. Baselining where we are and identifying new goals will help us to increase our spend with smaller suppliers, fledging high-tech firms, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and not-for-profits.”
“Some of our goals are quite challenging, for example increasing spend with voluntary and community sector organisations. But we’re not just treating this as a mathematical goal, it’s about the engagement process – working in partnership with supply organisations, listening to them, finding out about the challenges they face, the ambitions they have – building trust and awareness.”

Identifying how much a framework/ DPS can influence environmental outcomes
Ensure suppliers are accredited or working towards environmental standard, ISO 14001
Growing environmental score weighting for future sourcing exercises
Re-shaping framework procurement strategies:
Maturing our understanding of the positive impacts of innovation, environmental impact assessment, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) engagement – what does good look like?
